Logitech MX Ink: The Ultimate Tracked Stylus for Meta Quest Headsets Unveiled – Get Ready for Next-Level Creativity!

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – Logitech is set to revolutionize the virtual reality accessory market with the introduction of MX Ink, a tracked stylus specifically designed for Meta Quest headsets. This innovative device will support both Quest 2 and Quest 3, making it the first officially supported tracked accessory for an Oculus or Meta headset.

MX Ink is not your average stylus. It offers users the ability to engage in both 2D drawing on a physical surface and 3D creativity through full 6DoF positional tracking. Equipped with multiple buttons and a haptic feedback actuator, MX Ink provides a seamless and immersive creative experience like never before.

One of MX Ink’s standout features is its ability to pair with the headset without the need to unpair Touch controllers, a unique capability that allows Quest headsets to track three controllers simultaneously. This means users can effortlessly switch between Touch controllers and MX Ink without any interruptions, enhancing flexibility and ease of use.

Upon initial pairing, users will be guided through a custom tutorial integrated into the Quest system software. A new section in the headset settings will also allow customization of pressure curves for the nib and primary buttons, initial activation force, and double tap timing, ensuring a tailored experience for each user.

In addition to the stylus itself, Logitech will offer other accessories to enhance users’ creative capabilities. The MX Inkwell dock provides a convenient charging solution, while the MX Mat, with its smooth texture designed for 2D creativity, complements the stylus perfectly.

MX Ink will be supported in various Quest apps, as well as Adobe Substance Modeler and Elucis by RealizeMedical for PC VR apps usable over Quest Link/Air Link. Logitech plans to release an SDK to allow other developers to integrate MX Ink into their applications, expanding its compatibility and versatility in the virtual reality space.

With a scheduled launch at the end of September and a price tag of $130, Logitech MX Ink is poised to be a game-changer in the VR accessory market. As competitors like Apple explore their own stylus options, the partnership between Meta and Logitech may give them a head start in providing users with an innovative and immersive creative experience.
