Louisiana teacher allegedly had sex with a student as well as served alcohol to multiple others

SLIDELL, LA – A high school teacher in Louisiana has been accused of engaging in sexual misconduct with her male students, according to local law enforcement. The teacher, identified as 35-year-old Alexa Wingerter, allegedly sent explicit messages and photos to the students, purchased alcohol for them at local bars, and had sexual relations with at least one of them.

The investigation into Wingerter’s actions began in March after the Slidell Police Department received complaints about her inappropriate behavior. The allegations led to numerous interviews and search warrants, culminating in charges against Wingerter for prohibited sexual conduct between an educator and a student, and unlawful purchase of alcoholic beverages for a person under 21.

Wingerter was taken into custody at the Tammany Parish Detention Center last week. The police statement indicated that there was enough evidence to confirm that Wingerter had an inappropriate sexual relationship with at least one 18-year-old male student while acting in her teaching capacity.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are encouraging any additional victims to come forward. Evidence was also discovered that Wingerter was purchasing alcohol for her students at local bars in Slidell.

Following her arrest, Wingerter was released from the Tammany Parish Detention Center on the same day after posting a $3,500 bond. Her employment status with the St. Tammany Parish School District has been terminated, according to the district’s confirmation.

In a message to parents, the district’s superintendent, Frank Jabbia, emphasized the school’s commitment to student safety. He stated that all allegations of inappropriate conduct are reported directly to law enforcement and that the district has strict policies in place to prevent any behavior that compromises student safety.
