TYLER, Texas – Patrick Mahomes Sr., father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has been arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, according to a recent booking report.

The senior Mahomes, 53, was charged with a DWI and booked at Smith County Jail in Tyler, Texas, as indicated by the report. He has since been released on a $10,000 surety bond.

This is not the first time Mahomes Sr. has faced a DWI charge. He was arrested on a similar charge in 2018 and was subsequently sentenced to 40 days of jail time, to be served on weekends, according to Smith County court records.
