Man arrested after human leg discovered in park

MILWAUKEE, WI – A suspect has been apprehended in relation to the discovery of a dismembered human leg in a local Milwaukee County park. The individual in question, Maxwell Anderson, 33, was taken into custody following a search of his residence. The Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office has not yet charged Anderson, nor have they disclosed the reasons behind his status as a person of interest.

The gruesome discovery was made in Warnimont Park in Cudahy on April 2. Less than a week later, additional human remains were uncovered at three separate locations within Milwaukee County. Authorities have yet to confirm if these incidents are interconnected.

In a court hearing on April 9, prosecutors requested an additional 72 hours to examine the evidence, which could potentially lead to charges against Anderson. If the evidence review does not substantiate a case, Anderson may be released.

The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office has also reported the discovery of “two items” in Warnimont Park which may be pertinent to their ongoing investigation. However, no further details have been provided.

Retired Milwaukee Police Lt. Detective Steve Spingola has expressed his interest in the case, noting the rarity of such gruesome incidents. He has also highlighted the importance of DNA, phone records, and surveillance footage in solving this complex case.

While Anderson’s connection to the case remains unconfirmed, attention has been drawn to the missing 19-year-old, Sade Robinson. Although authorities have not linked her disappearance to the discovered remains, Robinson’s family was invited to Anderson’s hearing, sparking speculation. Robinson’s vehicle was found burned near the locations where the remains were discovered.
