Man attacks neighbor with machete for parking in front of his house

COLUMBUS, OH – A man was arrested in Columbus, Ohio, on Monday evening after he allegedly attacked his neighbor with a machete over a parking dispute. The incident took place in the Hilltop neighborhood on the 300 block of Clarendon Avenue.

As per the Columbus Division of Police, the altercation ensued when the victim parked his car in front of the residence of 64-year-old Michael Lee. The conflict escalated when Lee objected to the parking location, exchanging heated words with the victim.

Court documents reveal that Lee then retrieved a machete from his house and confronted the victim. The confrontation turned violent as Lee swung at the victim, damaging his clothing and causing a laceration on the victim’s left arm. Following the attack, Lee retreated to his house, barricading himself inside as the victim rang up the police.

Law enforcement officials confirm that the two men involved in the dispute are neighbors. The incident escalated to the point where SWAT was called to the scene, with Lee subsequently surrendering and being taken into custody.

According to a police sergeant at the scene, the machete-wielding assault resulted in minor injuries for the victim. Charged with felonious assault, Lee’s bond is set at $10,000. He is scheduled for his next court appearance on May 30th.
