Man shot dead at gas station after asking for money

CHAMBLEE, GA – A grisly encounter at a Georgia gas station has led to the filing of murder charges against a man who allegedly shot a 23-year-old individual seeking money. The suspect, Quinterius Sutton, 26, also faces charges of possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony and driving without a valid license, according to police records.

Witnesses narrate that Anderson Adonay-Perdomo approached various individuals for money at a Chamblee gas station on March 18 around 12:35 p.m. The situation took a fatal turn when Adonay-Perdomo approached Sutton’s car. Chamblee Police Department’s Lt. Mike Winfield revealed to reporters, “He was shot once in the torso, then Sutton fled the scene from there.”

Law enforcement was able to act swiftly due to automated license plate readers that recorded Sutton’s license plate number. Adonay-Perdomo was hurriedly transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. However, he ultimately succumbed to his injuries on Monday.

Interestingly, at the time of the incident, Sutton was already wanted in relation to another shooting incident. In August 2023, Sutton was allegedly involved in the shooting death of 21-year-old Trevor Stephenson near a local bar, according to reports.

Sutton is currently held in DeKalb County Jail. As of now, information on whether he has entered a plea or has legal representation is unclear.
