Man shot dead inside his home

LOS ANGELES, CA – A man in his 20s was found shot to death near Koreatown in the early hours of Tuesday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Officers responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon at 516 Normandie Ave, around 11:55 p.m.

When police officers arrived at the site of the deadly shooting, they encountered a male victim who had sustained gunshot injuries inside his home. When the Los Angeles Fire Department personnel reached the scene as well, they declared the victim to be dead.

A visibly upset woman at the location was overheard saying: “they killed him!” in Spanish, adding to the distress at the scene.

No motive has been determined for the shooting. Additionally, the suspect in the killing has not yet been identified by authorities. So far, no arrests have been made in connection to the incident. As the investigation into the crime is ongoing, Normandie Avenue between 6th St. and Wilshire Blvd. will remain closed.

LA Metro Bus notified commuters about a detour due to the police activities with an alert reading, “LINE 206: Buses detour via Mariposa between Wilshire and 6th through 10 am due to police activity at Wilshire/Normandie.”
