Man violently beaten by fellow hospital patient

MEMPHIS, TN – A Memphis resident is currently making his recovery journey at Regional One Hospital after a violent attack. His mother, Najmah Woods, seeks answers from Delta Specialty Hospital, where her son was viciously attacked by another patient.

Delta Specialty Hospital provides mental health treatments and addresses addiction issues for its patients, making it even more puzzling how such a serious attack could occur. His mother vividly remembers the last hours before the incident and noted that her son was “unrecognizable” after the attack.

Mansour El-Amin, the victim of this brutal assault, was heavily injured at the hands of another patient in the hospital. Mansour was initially enlisted in a drug rehabilitation program but was transferred to Delta after experiencing some discomfort.

The police report stated that his attacker, a patient suffering from schizoaffective disorder, went on a violent spree, repeatedly punching and even kicking the trending head of El-Amin until the hospital staff managed to intervene. The assault left Mansour with severe brain hemorrhaging and multiple facial fractures, and he now relies on a breathing tube.

His current condition is reported to be critical yet stable, with any signs of activity largely attributed to his sedation rather than his own efforts.
