Man who was shot arrested after Feds find stockpile of drugs and weapons in RV

KING COUNTY, Wash. – A man involved in a shooting incident at a North Bend campground on Sunday is now in federal custody after deputies reportedly found a stockpile of drugs, firearms, and explosives inside his motorhome.

Court documents from the U.S. District Court in Seattle reveal that the 27-year-old man and his girlfriend were allegedly distributing narcotics from their motorhome at a campsite near Olallie State Park. Deputies from the King County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene Sunday night following reports of a shooting. The injured man was airlifted to a hospital for treatment.

Upon his release from the hospital, the man returned to his motorhome and requested that investigators refrain from entering. According to a federal complaint filed Thursday, surveillance cameras were installed around the motorhome, which deputies believed captured the shooting incident. The suspect’s refusal to allow access prompted deputies to obtain a search warrant.

Executing the warrant, deputies discovered a substantial cache of firearms, narcotics, explosives, and body armor inside the motorhome. The evidence suggested involvement in narcotics and firearms trafficking, with items such as packing materials, baggies, scales, and digital calipers found alongside the contraband.

Photographs included in the complaint showed fentanyl pills, counterfeit Xanax, and precursor chemicals seized during the search. Additionally, deputies uncovered approximately 17 firearms, suppressors, body armor, ballistic shields, ammunition, 3D-printed AR-15 lower receivers without serial numbers, a 3D printer, and multiple explosive devices and grenades.

Both the man and his girlfriend were taken into custody and made their initial court appearances on Thursday afternoon. They have been ordered to remain in detention as federal prosecutors review the case and consider seeking a grand jury indictment.
