Los Angeles, California – Marc Summers, the former host of the Nickelodeon game show “Double Dare,” has recently spoken out about his unexpected experience while being interviewed for ID’s documentary “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV.”
During an interview on “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show,” Summers revealed that he was initially approached to participate in a documentary about Nickelodeon. However, he was unaware that the documentary aimed to expose toxic behavior within the network.
Summers expressed his shock at being ambushed by the producers of the documentary, who failed to disclose the true nature of the project. He described how he was shown troubling footage from Nickelodeon, prompting him to question the direction of the documentary.
As the documentary delved into the behavior of individuals like Dan Schneider and Brian Peck, Summers made the decision to walk out upon learning the true focus of the project. He emphasized that he had not met Schneider during his time on “Double Dare” and was unaware of the inappropriate incidents highlighted in the documentary.
Despite being initially excluded from the documentary, Summers later discovered that he was featured in a segment that portrayed him in a negative light. This revelation prompted him to question the ethics of the producers and the manner in which he was misled about the project.
In response to the documentary’s revelations about Schneider’s behavior in shows like “Zoey 101” and “Victorious,” Summers expressed his disbelief at the content that aired on Nickelodeon. He emphasized his lack of personal connection to Schneider and the individuals involved in the production of those shows.
Summers hinted at potential action to address the situation, indicating that he was awaiting a phone call to discuss the matter further. Meanwhile, ID has yet to respond to inquiries from sources.
