Marvel Star Jonathan Majors Facing Legal Battle After Assault Allegations Surfaces

NEW YORK – Renowned US actor Jonathan Majors, best known for his portrayal of Kang in the Marvel films, is facing legal troubles as his ex-girlfriend, British choreographer Grace Jabbari, has filed a civil lawsuit against him in a federal court in New York on Tuesday. The lawsuit alleges various offenses, including battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, malicious prosecution, and defamation.

This legal action comes on the heels of Majors’ conviction in December for assaulting and harassing Jabbari. The actor could potentially face up to a year in prison when he is sentenced in April. The court documents filed on Tuesday reveal shocking details about the alleged abuse, with Jabbari claiming that Majors subjected her to a prolonged period of domestic violence spanning from 2021 to 2023.

Among the disturbing allegations are multiple instances of physical violence and verbal abuse, as well as a severe attack in September 2022 that resulted in significant injuries to Jabbari’s body. According to the lawsuit, when Jabbari sought help by disclosing the abuse to a member of Majors’ management team, the actor reacted angrily, leading to further distress for the victim.

In response to the lawsuit, Majors’ lawyer Priya Chaudhry stated that the actor is preparing counterclaims against Jabbari. On the other side, Jabbari’s lawyer Brittany Henderson commended her client’s bravery for holding someone of Majors’ stature accountable for his actions. The legal battle between the two parties seems poised to intensify as more details of the case come to light.

Following his criminal conviction in December, Marvel Studios announced that they would no longer collaborate with Majors. The actor expressed disbelief at the jury’s verdict in an interview, questioning the evidence presented during the trial. Majors’ career, which included prominent roles in Marvel projects like “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” and Disney+ series “Loki,” now hangs in the balance as he faces the repercussions of his legal troubles.
