Massachusetts man shoots his mom and mom’s friend at their home

LEXINGTON, MA – A 22-year-old man from Lexington, Massachusetts, is facing a variety of criminal charges after he allegedly shot his mother and her friend in their shared residence. Brent Justice Roman-Finnagan was apprehended in relation to the incident that took place on Keeler Farm Way, as reported by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.

The Lexington police department received a distress call around 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The caller was Roman-Finnagan’s 57-year-old mother, who also resides at the Keeler Farm Way property. She reported that her son had shot her and her 55-year-old friend from Haverhill.

Roman-Finnagan was taken into custody at the scene without any complications. The two women were immediately taken to a hospital located nearby, where they are currently in stable condition.

The District Attorney’s Office confirmed that Roman-Finnagan was taken to a hospital in order to receive a mental health evaluation on Friday night. He has since been discharged from the hospital but remains in custody awaiting his arraignment.

Investigations revealed that Roman-Finnagan had unlawfully acquired a firearm, which he had been storing in his room. Authorities believe he used this weapon to shoot his mother and her friend.

Roman-Finnagan is now facing multiple charges, including two counts of armed assault with the intent to murder. In addition, he received two counts of assault and battery while using a dangerous weapon. He also faces several other charges related to firearm posession and assault.

The investigation into the shooting is being led by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office. State police detectives have also been actively involved in the investigation, as well as Lexington police.
