Morgan Wallen Arrested for Reckless Chair-Throwing Stunt in Nashville Broadway District

Nashville, Tennessee – Country music star Morgan Wallen found himself in hot water once again after being arrested on reckless endangerment charges for throwing a chair off the rooftop of a six-story bar in the city’s Broadway district. The incident, which occurred late Sunday night, led to Wallen being booked on three counts of felony reckless endangerment and one count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.

The 30-year-old singer was at country artist Eric Church’s newly opened bar, Chief’s, when the chair he threw nearly hit two police officers on Broadway. Video evidence from the rooftop captured Wallen’s actions, showing him lunging and tossing an object over the roof. Witnesses corroborated the events, stating that they had seen Wallen pick up the chair, throw it over himself, and laugh afterward.

Following his arrest around 12:30 a.m. on Monday, Wallen’s bond was set at $15,250, and he was released approximately three hours later. His attorney, Worrick Robinson, mentioned that Wallen is fully cooperating with authorities in the aftermath of the incident. The popular bar, located just two blocks from the renowned Ryman Auditorium, was in the midst of celebrating its opening weekend when the incident occurred.

Wallen, known as one of the biggest names in country music, faced backlash in 2021 for using a racial slur in a video captured outside his home. The incident led to his temporary banishment from the industry. Despite the controversies that have surrounded him, Wallen had previously expressed remorse for his actions in interviews, acknowledging that there were no excuses for his behavior.

In the past, Wallen was also in the spotlight for breaking COVID-19 protocols during a performance on “Saturday Night Live” and engaging in risky behavior during the pandemic. These incidents have marred his otherwise successful career and raised questions about his judgment. The recent reckless endangerment charges add to a growing list of controversies that have followed Wallen in recent years.
