MURDER MYSTERY: S Jaishankar Speaks Out on Canada’s Arrest of 3 Indians in Hardeep Nijjar Killing

Bhubaneswar, India – Foreign Minister S Jaishankar of India commented on the recent arrests of three Indian men in Canada, who have been charged with the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. The Canadian police announced the charges on Friday and are investigating possible connections between the suspects and the Indian government.

Jaishankar stated that India is waiting for Canadian authorities to share information regarding the arrests, emphasizing that the suspects appear to have ties to organized crime. He expressed concerns over the presence of crime syndicates from Punjab operating in Canada.

India’s high commissioner to Canada, Sanjay Verma, expressed the country’s desire to receive updates on the case from Canadian law enforcement. Verma highlighted that the issue is internal to Canada, refraining from making further comments on the matter.

The three individuals, all Indian nationals, were apprehended in Edmonton, Alberta. Nijjar was fatally shot outside a gurdwara in Surrey, a suburb of Vancouver with a significant Sikh population. The incident prompted allegations from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau regarding potential involvement of the Indian government, leading to diplomatic tensions between the two nations.

As the investigation continues, Jaishankar underscored the importance of cooperation between Indian and Canadian authorities to address criminal activities that transcend international borders. The outcome of this case could have implications for bilateral relations between Canada and India.
