Murder-suicide on Christmas Day leaves 3 children orphaned

SOUTHWEST HOUSTON, TX – Tragedy struck on Christmas Day when a man and a woman, a married couple, were found dead in a home in southwest Houston. Houston Police Department (HPD) believe the incident was a murder-suicide, leaving their three children orphaned.

The heartbreaking event unfolded shortly after 10 p.m. Monday in a residence on Grasila Drive, near South Post Oak and Highway 90. On arrival at the home, police were met by the couple’s 14-year-old daughter, who relayed the tragic events to the officers.

Once officers entered the home, they discovered the lifeless bodies of the two parents in an upstairs bedroom. Upon initial examination, investigators suspect that the 43-year-old husband shot his 34-year-old wife multiple times before fatally shooting himself.

The couple’s three daughters, ranging in age from 6 to 14, were present at the time of the incident but were not physically harmed. As authorities work to determine their future care, the bereaved girls were released into the custody of extended family members present at the scene.

Investigators have reportedly recovered the suspected murder weapon. While they continue to process evidence meticulously, the Houston Police Department assures that there is no immediate threat to the public in connection with this horrific incident.
