Murder suspect found in attic after six-hour standoff with police

CLAYTON COUNTY, GA – A six-hour police operation led to the arrest of a murder suspect in a Clayton County neighborhood, according to local residents. Police and a SWAT team spent hours negotiating with the suspect to surrender at a property on Fielding Way. This tense encounter led to sleepless nights and disrupted work schedules for the local community.

Neighbor Zanita Abina was surprised to learn that the suspect, her neighbor, had been arrested in connection with a murder. Initially mistaken for a loud television, the sounds of police on loudspeakers and flashbangs at around one in the morning left Abina and others in the neighborhood in shock.

Police were at the scene to apprehend 25-year-old Oni Hart, who was wanted on murder charges. Hart is accused of shooting and killing 47-year-old Andre Farrier at Redwood Ridge Apartments after a disagreement.

When Hart did not comply with officers, a SWAT team was deployed to the scene. Resident Brandon Kines’s surveillance system captured footage of the police efforts to get Hart to surrender, including the firing of flashbangs.

Eventually, police located Hart, who was hiding in her attic at the time of the arrest. Hart now faces charges of murder, aggravated assault, prostitution, obstruction of an officer, and possession of a firearm during a felony.

This incident marks Clayton County Police’s first solved murder case of the new year, with the arrest made within 24 hours of the crime.
