NCIS: Hawai’i Canceled After 3 Seasons – What’s Next for the NCIS Franchise?

Honolulu, Hawaii – CBS has made the decision to cancel the show “NCIS:Hawai’i” after three successful seasons. The series, starring Vanessa Lachey as Special Agent in Charge Jane Tennant, followed the team as they tackled high-stakes crimes involving military personnel and national security in the scenic backdrop of Hawaii. The cancellation was announced following the milestone 1,000th episode celebration of the NCIS franchise.

The news of the cancellation comes shortly after CBS added LL Cool J to the cast as a recurring guest star in the third season. The actor and rapper made a surprise cameo as his “NCIS: Los Angeles” character in the season 2 finale. Alongside Lachey, the show also featured Tori Anderson, Alex Tarrant, Noah Mills, Yasmine Al-Bustami, and Jason Antoon, with Matt Bosack, Jan Nash, Christopher Silber, and Larry Teng serving as executive producers.

Fans of “Hawai’i” may be disappointed by the cancellation, but CBS has revealed plans for two new shows in the NCIS universe for the upcoming season. “NCIS: Origins” will focus on a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs, while another unnamed show on Paramount+ will see the return of Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly as Ziva David and Tony DiNozzo.

The final episode of “NCIS: Hawai’i” will air on Monday, May 6th, serving as the conclusion of the series. Additionally, CBS has announced future endeavours for the NCIS franchise, promising more content for fans to look forward to.
