NCIS: Hawaii Cancelled – Island Drama’s Fate Revealed by CBS

Los Angeles, CA – CBS has reached a decision regarding the fate of ‘NCIS: Hawaii,’ a popular island drama that had been left in limbo after the renewal of ‘NCIS’ and ‘NCIS: Sydney.’ The network has chosen not to renew ‘NCIS: Hawaii’ for a fourth season, as reported by TVLine.

The news of the show’s cancellation comes after ‘NCIS’ secured a new season and ‘NCIS: Sydney’ got renewed for a second season. There is currently no information on whether ‘NCIS: Hawaii’ is being considered for renewal by other platforms.

In the current season, ‘NCIS: Hawaii’ has been averaging 7.8 million total viewers and a 0.5 demo rating, representing a 4% increase in viewership compared to the previous season. Despite its strong viewership numbers, the show ranks sixth in total audience among the 14 drama series aired by CBS this TV season.

Other CBS series that faced cancellation this spring include ‘CSI: Vegas’ and ‘So Help Me Todd.’ Meanwhile, the network has renewed several other shows, including ‘FBI,’ ‘FBI: International,’ ‘FBI: Most Wanted,’ and ‘The Equalizer.’

‘NCIS: Hawaii’ will end its third season with a two-part finale airing on April 29 and May 6. Yasmine Al-Bustami, who portrays Special Agent Lucy Tara, has teased that the finale will be action-packed and include significant developments.

With the cancellation of ‘NCIS: Hawaii,’ CBS is making room for new projects, such as the upcoming ‘Young Gibbs’ prequel spinoff of ‘NCIS: Origins’ and a Tony/Ziva-centric offshoot bound for Paramount+. The network continues to evolve its lineup to cater to a diverse audience and adapt to changing viewer preferences.
