Newborn baby girl found in the trash

KAHALA, HI – A newborn baby girl discarded in the trash by her mother in Kahala was saved by a quick-thinking Good Samaritan who rescued the infant and helped get her to safety. The incident occurred late on Saturday night. In an emotional recollection of the events, the Samaritan expressed how the event unfurled like a nightmarish dream, describing his shock and sorrow at having to extract the baby from the trash.

The incident transpired around 11:30 p.m. while the Samaritan was home alone. He was alerted by a woman’s screams from outside his residence. On peering out of the window, he was stunned to witness a homeless woman giving birth on the sidewalk. He immediately contacted emergency services.

The Samaritan was not prepared for the woman’s subsequent actions. After giving birth, she walked across the street, deposited the newborn in a trashcan, and then casually walked off. Overwhelmed and in disbelief, the Samaritan rushed outside to aid the newborn.

The baby was crying, a good sign, when he retrieved her from atop the pile of trash. The baby girl appeared unharmed. While awaiting the arrival of an ambulance, he was overcome with emotion, particularly moved by the thought of someone leaving their child in such a manner.

According to reports, the baby is currently in stable condition at a local hospital. The Samaritan is grateful for divine timing as his presence at home during the incident likely saved the baby’s life.

The child’s mother remains unidentified, and local law enforcement has opened a child abandonment case.
