Next-Gen Update for Fallout 4 Finally Drops – Major Performance and Quality Enhancements Await!

Boston, MA – Bethesda has released a highly anticipated free next-gen update for Fallout 4 today, bringing with it significant improvements in performance and quality for the popular 2015 RPG. The update is designed to enhance the visual and gameplay experience for players on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.

One of the key features of the update is the introduction of performance and quality mode options. Players can choose to run the game at up to 60fps with dynamic scaling in “Performance” mode, while “Quality” mode provides a 30fps experience at 4K resolution without dynamic scaling.

Originally scheduled for a 2023 release, the next-gen patch for Fallout 4 was postponed to 2024 before finally rolling out today. The update comes hot on the heels of the Prime Video Fallout TV show, which has reignited interest in the Fallout franchise and potentially drawing more players back to Fallout 4.

In addition to the performance improvements, the update includes stability enhancements for players on PS4 and Xbox One, addressing issues with quests and logins. PC players also receive widescreen and ultra-widescreen monitor support, along with various bug fixes. Moreover, Fallout 4 is now available for purchase on the Epic Games Store and is Steam Deck-verified for Valve’s handheld device.

The latest patch for Fallout 4 introduces new Creation Club content for free, including the “Enclave Remnants” questline. This new content adds depth to the game’s narrative and provides players with additional gameplay experiences to explore.

As the update is gradually rolled out to console and PC players, the Creation Club and Mods Menu will be temporarily down. The development team is also working to ensure compatibility with existing user-created mods, although the impact of the update on this remains to be seen.

Gamers can now enjoy Fallout 4 on Game Pass and Game Pass Core for free, further expanding accessibility to the game. With these updates and additions, Bethesda is aiming to offer a more immersive and enjoyable experience for both new and returning players to the post-apocalyptic world of Fallout 4.
