NFL quarterback counter-sues accuser for $100 million extortion attempt

ARLINGTON, TX – The Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback, Dak Prescott, finds himself at the center of a sexual assault allegation dating back to 2017. The claim was made public when the woman involved lodged a complaint this week.

In a countermove, Prescott initiated legal proceedings against his accuser on Monday. He alleges that the woman sought a substantial monetary settlement in return for her silence on the matter. Documents from the lawsuit reveal a letter sent to Prescott by the woman’s legal team in January, demanding a staggering $100 million to avoid publicizing the allegations.

Prescott, who was a newcomer to the Cowboys in the year of the alleged assault, has firmly denied the allegations. The 30-year-old star has responded with a countersuit of $1 million against his accuser, with his legal representation categorically refuting the claims.

Levi McCathern, Prescott’s lawyer, released a statement underscoring Prescott’s deep empathy for victims of sexual assault and his commitment to justice for such offenses. He stressed that Prescott has never been involved in any nonconsensual sexual activities and that they will not allow the defendant to benefit financially from this alleged extortion attempt.

The attorney representing the woman has stated that Prescott admitted to being in the company of the woman on the night in question. Prescott, a fourth-round selection in the 2016 draft, recently completed his eighth season with the Cowboys, leading them to a 12-5 victory and an NFC East title.
