Nightclub security guard gets beaten to death by mob in Hollywood

A security guard at a nightclub in Hollywood was tragically killed early Sunday morning after being brutally beaten by a large mob. The incident occurred at the Dragonfly Hollywood nightclub on Santa Monica Boulevard, near Wilcox Avenue, around 2 a.m. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) stated that officers responded to reports of a group of 10 individuals attacking one person.

Detective Samuel Marullo from the LAPD West Bureau Homicide Division stated that the victim, a male in his 30s, was working at the nightclub when he was confronted by the group for unknown reasons. The confrontation caused the security guard to fall into the street, where the mob proceeded to kick and stomp him to death. The police are currently investigating whether the fight originated inside the club and spilled onto the street or if it began outside entirely.

Disturbing video footage from the scene captured first responders attempting to save the security guard’s life as he lay in the street. The Dragonfly Hollywood nightclub was still open and filled with patrons at the time of the incident. The club was hosting its weekly Signature Saturdays event, featuring Detroit rapper Tee Grizzley as the headliner. It remains unclear whether the club will postpone its Sunday Night Fever event following the security guard’s tragic death.

No arrests have been made, and the LAPD has not released any suspect descriptions. The LAPD’s investigation into this tragic incident is ongoing, and they are working diligently to identify and apprehend those responsible for the security guard’s death. The community is urged to cooperate with law enforcement and provide any information that may assist in bringing justice to the victim and his family.
