Nvidia CEO Unveils "Rubin" AI Chip Powerhouse at COMPUTEX – What It Means for the Industry

San Jose, California – Nvidia, a leading tech company, revealed its latest artificial intelligence chips during the Nvidia GPU Technology Conference (GTC) in San Jose, California. The co-founder and CEO, Jensen Huang, announced the new chip architecture named “Rubin” at the COMPUTEX tech conference in Taipei.

The introduction of Rubin comes shortly after the unveiling of the previous model, “Blackwell,” which is still in production and slated to be delivered to customers later this year. Huang’s announcement reflects Nvidia’s commitment to accelerating advancements in AI chip technology.

Nvidia has committed to a more rapid release cycle for new AI chip models, moving from a two-year update timeline to a one-year schedule. This shift underscores the fierce competition in the AI chip market and Nvidia’s determination to maintain its position as a key player in the industry.

Competitors like AMD and Intel are working vigorously to catch up with Nvidia, although Nvidia continues to maintain higher gross margins. Companies such as Microsoft, Google, and Amazon are also pushing to challenge Nvidia’s dominance while remaining some of its biggest clients. Additionally, a wave of startups is entering the AI chip market, further intensifying the competition.

Huang emphasized the significance of the unveiling, stating, “Today, we’re at the cusp of a major shift in computing.” The Rubin chip platform will incorporate new GPUs and a central processor known as “Vera,” enhancing the capabilities of AI systems. Although specific details were not provided during the announcement, the unveiling marks a significant step in Nvidia’s technological advancements.

Despite the unveiling of the new AI chip model, Nvidia’s stock prices remained relatively stable at $1,096 by the close of the market. The company continues to push boundaries in AI and accelerated computing to drive the next wave of technological innovation.
