OMAHA BOUND: UNC Baseball Team Secures College World Series Spot with Super Regional Win

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of North Carolina baseball team has secured their 12th trip to the College World Series in program history. Led by freshman pitcher Jason DeCaro and a stellar performance from Vance Honeycutt, the Tar Heels clinched a 2-1 victory against West Virginia, earning their first Omaha trip since 2018 under head coach Scott Forbes.

The Tar Heels, with a 47-14 record and seeded fourth nationally, dominated the best-of-three Super Regional series against West Virginia, sweeping their way back to the College World Series. Coach Forbes expressed his happiness for the team, emphasizing their well-deserved spot in Omaha for their outstanding performance.

Facing off against the No. 12 seed, Virginia, in the opening-round game next weekend, the Tar Heels are gearing up for another challenging matchup.
