One dead and three hospitalized in rollover crash

LOS ANGELES, CA – A fatal rollover crash in Griffith Park early this morning has left one person dead and three others hospitalized in serious condition, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The incident occurred around 12:50 a.m. on the 134 East Freeway at the 5 Freeway South connector.

Responding officers discovered a vehicle overturned, with two individuals trapped inside. Tragically, a third person had been ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth occupant managed to exit the wreckage on their own before emergency services arrived.

The three surviving victims were swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Authorities have yet to disclose the identities of those involved, pending notification of next of kin.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash, which resulted in significant traffic disruptions in the area during the early morning hours. Preliminary reports suggest that speed may have been a contributing factor, though the investigation remains ongoing.

This tragic incident underscores the importance of road safety, particularly in areas known for complex freeway interchanges. The CHP is urging motorists to exercise caution and adhere to speed limits to prevent such devastating accidents.

Residents and commuters in the Griffith Park area are advised to stay updated on traffic conditions and seek alternate routes where possible as authorities continue their investigation and cleanup efforts.
