TAMPA, FL – The parking lot of a Holiday Inn in Tampa was the scene of fatal gunfire early on Sunday morning. The shooting has left at least one person dead and injured three others, according to law enforcement sources.
Public Information Officer Joneé Lewis of the Tampa Police Department informed that two vehicles were targeted in the shooting incident.
Tragically, rapper Charles Jones, known as Julio Foolio in the music community, was killed at the scene. Three other people who were also hit by bullets were transported to local hospitals. The early indicators from the police suggest that those wounded will survive their injuries. At the time of the shooting, the victims were apparently attempting to secure a room at the hotel.
Currently, police are examining surveillance footage to gather more details about the incident. Law enforcement also supports hotel guests as they navigate around the active investigation site. So far, no arrests have been made, although police are seeking additional video to assist in identifying any potential culprits.
The rapper’s girlfriend confirmed his death via Instagram, stating that Julio Foolio died following his birthday celebration in Tampa. The rapper himself had previously shared that he was holding a pool party at a Tampa Airbnb for his birthday but was compelled to relocate by the police.
