One killed, two injured in parking lot shooting at convention center

ST. CHARLES, MO – A shooting incident in St. Charles, Missouri, claimed one life and injured two others on the evening of the incident. The ordeal took place in the parking lot of the St. Charles Convention Center and the adjacent Embassy Suites hotel, as confirmed by local authorities.

Local law enforcement informed media outlets that there are two individuals currently in custody in relation to this incident. The deceased victim was identified as 19-year-old Terrell Peete, a resident of nearby St. Louis.

Police located the vehicle inside the lot, which apparently crashed into a tree and was riddled with bullet holes. The St. Charles police department narrated that this entire event transpired around 8 pm after they had received calls indicating a triple shooting scenario.

Upon arriving at the scene, officials found four individuals on the scene, three of them suffering from gunshot wounds. The officers found two of those injured were critically hurt and transferred them immediately to nearby medical facilities for life-saving interventions. The third victim, albeit hurt, did not require immediate medical treatment.

The police informed the public that Peete was one of the injured party and later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The latest on the condition of the critically injured individual remains unknown.

Law enforcement authorities have yet to divulge particulars about the two detained individuals or their purported involvement in this crime. A secondary crime scene has been established near the convention center, but its link to the deadly shooting is presently undefined, according to the police. They underscored that their investigation is in progress, and the motive behind this fatal shooting remains unknown.
