Kansas City, Missouri was rocked by a shooting that left three people dead and several others injured. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning at the intersection of 57th and Prospect.
Police were called to the scene just after 4:30 am and discovered three shooting victims in a parking lot and on the street to the south of the intersection. Sadly, two men and one woman died at the scene.
According to the police, at least five more shooting victims arrived at various hospitals by private vehicles or ambulance. Fortunately, their injuries are not life-threatening. The police believe that there was a large gathering of people in the parking lot at the intersection when the shooting occurred. Detectives are urging anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward with any information they may have.
Mayor Quinton Lucas expressed his condolences to the families of the victims in a series of tweets on Sunday morning. The police are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for any information submitted anonymously to the TIPS hotline.
The investigation is ongoing, and the police are appealing to the public for any information that could help them identify the perpetrators. They believe that there are many witnesses who could have valuable information that could assist with the investigation.
