RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA – Dr. William Dugal, 34, faced a life-altering challenge after contracting COVID-19 in 2022. The North Carolina doctor’s battle with Guillain-Barre syndrome, a rare post-viral condition that left him paralyzed, serves as a testament to his resilience and determination in the face of adversity.
After attending a wedding with his wife and infant daughter, Dugal experienced a rapid decline in health, eventually losing the ability to move, swallow, or breathe unassisted. His condition rapidly deteriorated, leading him to confront the possibility of not surviving the ordeal.
