Police find three women shot to death after shooting armed suspect

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV – A man who disregarded police orders to drop his firearm was fatally shot by officers near an apartment complex in North Las Vegas. Upon further investigation, authorities discovered three women and a dog, all shot to death, in two nearby apartments. An unharmed child was also found at the scene.

The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when police responded to a 911 call reporting gunfire at the apartment complex. The dispatcher could hear gunshots in the background of the call. As the officers arrived on the scene, a man approached them, ignoring repeated commands to drop his weapon. He was subsequently shot by two officers.

The man, believed to be the perpetrator of the earlier shootings, was declared dead at the scene. The North Las Vegas Police Department spokesperson, Kathleen Richards, confirmed on Wednesday that the deceased man is suspected to be responsible for the killings.

The identities of the victims have not been released yet. The officers involved in the shooting of the man have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

In a separate incident occurring less than three hours later, police responded to a shooting report in a business parking lot. A man, presumed to be in his 20s, was found dead in a crashed vehicle. Authorities have yet to identify a suspect in this case, but Richards confirmed that it is not believed to be connected to the earlier shootings at the apartment complex.
