PALMDALE, CA – A gruesome murder is under investigation in Los Angeles County, where a pregnant woman was found fatally stabbed inside of her home. Authorities have not yet made any arrests in connection with this case.
According to the authorities, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies were prompted to visit a residence in Palmdale late Tuesday evening for a welfare check. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated that upon their arrival, deputies were forced to enter the victim’s home after detecting what appeared to be blood on the living room floor.
The victim was a 27-year-old woman who was approximately six or seven months pregnant. She was discovered with evident stab wounds and was declared dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s department. The woman’s name is currently withheld as her family is yet to be notified, as confirmed by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Gomez.
Despite investigators following up on leads, no arrests have been made in the case as of Thursday afternoon. The sudden news of the impending mother’s death shocked Alexis Armstrong, a friend of the victim.
Armstrong lamented the cruelty of the world to reporters and described her friend as a good person.
