STAMFORD, Conn. – Michelle Troconis received a 20-year prison sentence, with the possibility of parole after serving 14 1/2 years, for her role in the cover-up of Jennifer Dulos’ murder. The sentencing followed emotional statements from Jennifer Dulos’ loved ones, including her children, who expressed their pain and loss in court.
During the trial, it was revealed that Fotis Dulos, Jennifer Dulos’ estranged husband, allegedly killed her in her garage in May 2019. Troconis, who was dating Fotis Dulos at the time, was implicated in helping him cover up the crime. Despite maintaining her innocence, Troconis was found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder, tampering with evidence, and hindering prosecution.
The judge dismissed one count of conspiracy to commit evidence tampering but upheld the majority of the charges against Troconis. Evidence presented during the trial included surveillance footage showing Fotis Dulos disposing of alleged evidence with Troconis in the car with him. This included zip ties, gloves, and stained clothing believed to be connected to the crime.
In an emotional plea, Jennifer Dulos’ children spoke of the pain and loss they have experienced as a result of their mother’s death and the subsequent events. Petros Dulos, who was 13 when his mother died, expressed his regret for not being a better son during the divorce and his profound loss for not being able to tell his mother how proud he was of her courage.
The sentencing hearing also included statements from Troconis’ family, who pleaded for leniency on her behalf. Troconis herself expressed regret and sorrow for the tragedy that has affected numerous lives, stating that she deeply regretted her relationship with Fotis Dulos.
