In a statement to NBC News, Killer Mike expressed his gratitude for the support he had received from fans. He downplayed the incident as a misunderstanding, stating, “I greatly appreciate the concern and support, but I am better than OK.” He went on to explain that there was confusion around which door he and his team should enter, and they encountered an over-zealous security guard. However, he expressed confidence that he would be cleared of any wrongdoing.
Following his arrest, the rapper was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor battery but was later released. He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 29. In addition to the incident at the Grammys, Killer Mike shared some positive news, revealing that his son had found a donor match for a new kidney after a long wait. “Obviously, we are elated,” he said.
