Reba McEntire to Sing National Anthem at 2024 Super Bowl for the First Time – Watch Her Interview with CBS Mornings

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – Country music legend Reba McEntire is set to perform the national anthem before the Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers at the 2024 Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 11. This marks McEntire’s first Super Bowl performance, but she has a long history with the song, having been discovered as a singer 50 years ago at the 1974 National Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma when she sang the national anthem. McEntire, a three-time Grammy winner, expressed her excitement at being part of such a historic event, especially since it’s the first time the Super Bowl is coming to Las Vegas.

In January, McEntire revealed that she prepares for such performances by warming up like she would for a concert and singing the anthem about five or six times before taking the stage. She also shared that the opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl was initially presented to her by her manager, and her boyfriend, Rex Linn, a huge football fan, immediately encouraged her to accept the offer.

Apart from McEntire, other performers at the 2024 Super Bowl pregame show include Post Malone singing “America the Beautiful” and Andra Day performing “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” The halftime show will feature Usher, making it a star-studded lineup for the big game.

Last year, Chris Stapleton sang the national anthem at the Super Bowl. Super Bowl LVIII is set to air on CBS and Nickelodeon and stream on Paramount+ on Feb. 11 from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, with kickoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET. This event is expected to draw in massive viewership and promises to be an exciting and unforgettable experience for football and music fans alike.
