Recall Madness: Ford Motors Warns 450K Owners of Battery Issue Sparking Loss of Drive Power!

Detroit, Michigan – Ford Motor Co. has issued a recall for over 450,000 compact SUVs and pickup trucks due to a potential loss of drive power caused by a battery issue. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) revealed the recall affecting 2022-2024 Ford Bronco Sport SUVs and Maverick compact pickup trucks manufactured between 2022-2023.

The NHTSA warned that an undetected low battery charge could lead to malfunctions in electrical accessories such as hazard lights or even result in a loss of drive power in the affected vehicles. The recall impacts 456,565 vehicles, and Ford announced that dealers will recalibrate the body control and powertrain control modules to address the issue at no cost to owners.

This recall comes just days after Ford issued another recall for tens of thousands of small SUVs over concerns of cracked fuel injectors that could lead to leaks, increasing the risk of engine fires. The NHTSA stated that the fuel injector leak detection software will be updated, and a drain tube will be installed to address the issue in the affected vehicles.

In addition to Ford’s recent recalls, other car manufacturers have also issued recall notices in March and early April. Hyundai and Kia have recalled over 147,000 U.S. electric vehicles due to damaged charging units, which can stop charging the car’s battery and result in a loss of drive power. Meanwhile, Chrysler, Subaru, and Kia have issued recalls for various safety issues, including airbag inflators, airbag sensors, and potential movement while in park.

These recalls serve as a reminder of the importance of addressing safety issues promptly to ensure the well-being of drivers and passengers. Car manufacturers are working diligently to rectify these issues and keep consumers informed of any potential risks. Owners of the affected vehicles are encouraged to contact their respective dealerships for more information on the recalls and to schedule necessary repairs to address safety concerns.
