Regan Smith Dominates 2024 Pro Swim Series in Westmont With Record-Breaking Performance!

Westmont, California – The 2024 Pro Swim Series in Westmont continues with an exciting lineup for the third night featuring finals of the 200 butterfly, 50 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 200 breaststroke, and 400 freestyle.

Big-name Olympic medalists like Regan Smith, Abbey Weitzeil, Lilly King, and Kieran Smith are set to compete tonight. Smith, in particular, is facing a challenging 200 fly/100 back double during this session.

Anticipated showdowns include the men’s 100 back between Justin Ress and Ryan Murphy and the men’s 50 free between Jack Alexy, Ryan Held, and Caeleb Dressel. Claire Weinstein, Wednesday’s 800 free champion, will be looking to fend off Paige Madden in the 400 free.

In the women’s 200 butterfly final, Regan Smith dominated with a time of 2:04.80, setting a new Pro Swim Series record and finishing over four seconds ahead of the competition. In the men’s 200 butterfly final, Luca Urlando emerged victorious with a time of 1:56.25 after recovering from a shoulder injury in 2022.

Torri Huske clinched the women’s 50 freestyle title with a time of 24.31, edging out Simone Manuel. Reigning Olympic champion Caeleb Dressel overcame obstacles to win the men’s 50 freestyle in 21.84, narrowly beating Santo Condorelli and Jack Alexy.

Regan Smith continued her dominance in the women’s 100 backstroke, securing first place in 57.64. The men’s 100 backstroke final saw intense competition with no clear winner.
