RePop Mode Revealed in New Lollipop Chainsaw Trailer – Release Date Set for September 25th! Watch Now

Los Angeles, California – Fans of the 2012 hack-and-slash video game, Lollipop Chainsaw, can finally mark their calendars for the release of the refreshed version, Lollipop Chainsaw RePop, on September 25th. This new edition of the game comes with a first trailer revealing the action-packed gameplay featuring the new “RePop mode.”

In RePop, players have the option to choose between the “Original mode,” which stays true to the gritty violence of the original game, or the new RePop mode, which introduces “pop-art damage effects” in place of some of the violent elements. These changes, including improved load times, 4K resolution support, and running at 60 frames per second, aim to make RePop the definitive version of the game, as stated by producer Yoshimi Yasuda.

Originally announced in 2022 with a summer 2023 release window, the development of RePop faced delays pushing its release to 2024. Concerns arose when it was revealed that the original creators, Suda51 and Grasshopper Manufacture, along with writer James Gunn, known for his work on superhero movies, would not be involved in this remake. Additionally, the absence of the original soundtrack, featuring songs from artists like Skrillex and The Human League, has left fans wondering about the new musical direction of RePop.

Despite receiving mixed reviews initially, Lollipop Chainsaw garnered a cult following over the years for its unique style and over-the-top gameplay. For some gamers, the upcoming release of RePop in September may present an opportunity to revisit the game and experience it in a new light. With the introduction of the RePop mode and other enhancements, players can anticipate a fresh take on the zombie-slaying cheerleader adventure when it hits the shelves later this year.
