Los Angeles, California – DJ and producer Diplo is facing a lawsuit for allegedly distributing revenge porn, with this being the second accusation against him for the same offense in less than a year.
The plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe, claims to have had an intimate relationship with Diplo from June 2016 to October 2023. According to the lawsuit filed in California, the two met on Snapchat in April 2016 when Jane Doe was 21 years old. Subsequently, Diplo invited her to his Manhattan hotel room in June, where their intimate relationship began and allegedly continued for years. In November, Jane Doe discovered that images and videos of their sexual interactions were being distributed without her consent.
During their relationship, Jane Doe made it clear to Diplo that she did not want any videos or images shared without her explicit consent. In November, she was contacted by another woman who claimed to have explicit videos involving Jane Doe that Diplo had given her over Snapchat in October 2018. Following this, Jane Doe reported the incident to the New York Police Department, leading to a warrant being issued for Diplo’s arrest.
This is not the first time Diplo has faced allegations of disseminating revenge porn. In a previous case in 2020, another woman accused him of distributing explicit content without her consent. Diplo responded to these claims by filing his own lawsuit and labeling the accuser as a “stalker” engaged in a baseless smear campaign.
In August 2023, the same accuser filed another report with the Los Angeles Police Department, accusing Diplo of distributing nude photographs of her. The LAPD then referred the case to the Los Angeles attorney’s office for further review.
