Road rage shooting turns into fiery crash that leaves 8 people hospitalized

Eight people have been hospitalized following a possible road rage incident in Colorado. The incident occurred north of Fort Collins, where a car crashed into a nearby field after the driver fired shots. The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the incident, which took place on Thursday afternoon in the area of Owl Canyon Road and US Highway 287.

According to authorities, the driver of one vehicle allegedly fired shots at another vehicle, causing it to crash and catch fire. Fortunately, none of the eight individuals inside the car were hit by the gunfire. However, they did sustain minor injuries as a result of the crash. Larimer County Investigators have confirmed that the shooting itself did not cause these injuries.

An ambulance came to the scene of the crash to assist the injured individuals, but the ambulance also caught fire. According to authorities, this was unrelated to the car fire. Firefighters have attributed the ambulance fire to the old age of the vehicle.

One of the victims had to be airlifted from the scene, while the others were transported to the hospital. Thankfully, none of their injuries are considered life-threatening, and they are expected to recover. Despite extinguishing both vehicle fires by 6 p.m., several roads remained closed to allow the County Sheriffs to conduct their investigation. Meanwhile, the suspect vehicle involved in the shooting fled the scene. The Larimer County investigators are currently searching for any individuals connected to the incident.

The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone who has information about the incident to come forward and assist with their investigation.
