DUBLIN, Ireland – Primoz Roglič, the race leader of Itzulia Basque Country, recently escaped a serious crash without any fractures, according to a statement from Bora-hansgrohe. The Slovenian cyclist was one of several riders involved in the mass crash on Thursday. While Roglič was seen limping away from the scene, he managed to avoid any major injuries and even gave a thumbs up as he was taken away for further evaluation.

After undergoing examinations at the hospital, it was confirmed that Roglič did not sustain any fractures as a result of the crash during the race. The team expressed well wishes to all the riders affected by the incident.

During the crash, defending Itzulia champion Jonas Vingegaard sustained more serious injuries, including a broken collarbone and several broken ribs. Vingegaard also suffered a pulmonary contusion and a collapsed lung but remains stable in the hospital.

Another rider, Remco Evenepoel, also had to abandon the race due to the crash, suffering a broken collarbone and scapula. Despite these setbacks, Evenepoel remains optimistic about his long-term goals, including the Tour de France and Paris Olympics.
