Rollover bus crash leaves 1 dead, 11 more injured

LAKE GEORGE, NY – A tragic bus crash in New York claimed one life and left 11 other people injured. The Skyway Coach Line tour bus, originating from Montreal, Canada, was en route to New York City when it overturned on Interstate 87 (Adirondack Northway). According to New York State Police, this crash took place near Lake George in Warren County.

The accident occurred just before 1 p.m. on Friday, though further details surrounding the event remain undisclosed by the authorities at this time. Video footage from the scene reveals a large white and green bus toppled over, with rescue personnel swiftly arriving to aid those onboard.

It has been confirmed that a total of 24 people were traveling on the coach when the incident occurred. State Police report one fatality from the accident, while another passenger, airlifted to Albany Medical Center, is currently in critical condition. Ten others sustained minor injuries in the tragic event.

New York’s Governor, Kathy Hochul, acknowledged and conveyed her gratitude for the rescue efforts made by first responders in a heartfelt X-post. She also affirmed that law enforcement and Department of Transportation workers were both conducting rescue operations at the scene.

While the southbound highway bore closure between exits 23 and 22, Police spokesperson Deanna Cohen stated that the scene’s assessment was still ongoing, and as of now, no further details were available. Governor Hochul beckoned New Yorkers to join her in praying for those involved in the horrific incident and applauded the tireless efforts of the first responders.
