Seoul, South Korea – A wave of excitement swept through tech enthusiasts as leaks regarding Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 detailed the impressive specifications of the devices just a week before the Galaxy Unpacked launch event. The leaks, courtesy of prolific source Evan Blass, shed light on crucial details regarding the display, performance, and durability of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Both phones are reported to feature sturdy builds, with Armor Aluminum frames and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection for the cover screen. Notably, the phones boast an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance, marking a significant step-up in durability compared to previous foldable models from Samsung.
In terms of specifications, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is said to maintain the same display sizes as its predecessor, with a 3.4-inch cover screen and a 6.7-inch foldable screen. The device is equipped with a 720 x 748-pixel OLED cover screen and a Full HD+ resolution Dynamic AMOLED 2x foldable screen with a 120Hz variable refresh rate.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 features a 6.3-inch HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2x screen and a 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2x screen, both boasting a 120Hz variable refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 2,600 nits. Under the hood, both devices are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and run on Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1 software.
Moreover, the devices offer enhanced AI features such as Circle to Search and improved Chat Assist capabilities. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 sports a 50MP primary camera, while the Galaxy Z Fold 6 comes with a 50MP primary rear camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera, and dual front-facing cameras for cover and inner screens.
Despite packing robust features, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 manages to be thinner than its predecessor, while the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is lighter in weight compared to the previous model. Both phones boast a side-mounted fingerprint reader, stereo speakers, and support for 5G connectivity along with other essential features like GPS, Wi-Fi 6E, and NFC.
Samsung claims impressive battery life for both devices, with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 promising up to 20 hours of web browsing on Wi-Fi and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 offering up to 18 hours of browsing. The devices are also touted to deliver extended hours of video playback and wireless audio playback, showcasing advancements in battery efficiency.
