Austin, Texas – The state of Texas mourned the loss of a young boy and an adult in a tragic school bus crash in Bastrop County. The incident occurred as the bus, carrying Tom Green Elementary School pre-K students, was returning from a field trip to the Bastrop Zoo.
Following the crash, Hays CISD Superintendent Eric Wright expressed his heartbreak over the tragedy, highlighting the impact on the student’s family, the school community, and the larger Hays CISD community. He commended the actions of the school bus driver and other adults onboard, who prioritized the children’s well-being despite their own injuries.
