Seven people hit as multiple gunmen fired into a crowd

PHILADELPHIA, PA – A 16-year-old girl was among seven individuals injured in a shooting incident in Philadelphia on Wednesday evening. Authorities believe the attack was targeted, as gunmen opened fire on a crowd gathered on North Bambrey Street.

The shooting occurred around 6:15 p.m., and the suspects fled the scene immediately after the incident, according to the Philadelphia Police Department. “The gunmen deliberately aimed at the crowd, and it seems likely that someone within the group was the intended target,” said Philadelphia Police Inspector Scott Small.

The victims, whose ages range from 16 to 47, were promptly taken to local hospitals and are reported to be in stable condition. Among the injured were two females who sustained leg wounds, while another female and two males were shot in their arms or legs. The 16-year-old girl suffered a graze wound to her abdomen, and an 18-year-old female was shot in the back.

Investigators believe the shots were fired from a semiautomatic weapon. It is suspected that one to three shooters exited a vehicle and began firing into the crowd. The vehicle in question is described as a dark-colored, four-door sedan with yellow tape or plastic securing the rear trunk.

Authorities have yet to release further details about the suspects. “The vehicle’s distinctive feature, the yellow tape or plastic on the trunk, has been broadcasted over our police radio,” noted Inspector Small.

As the investigation continues, police are urging anyone with information to come forward. The community remains on edge as they await further updates on the suspects and their motives.
