Seven people shot in dispute over borrowed car

ORLANDO, FL – An altercation over a car escalated into a deadly shooting in Orlando, Florida, on Wednesday night, police reported. Responding to the Rosemont neighborhood around 11 p.m., officers discovered seven victims at the scene, including one who had succumbed to their injuries.

The deceased individual has been identified as 21-year-old James Jerry Dawn William III. The other six victims, who were transported to the hospital following the incident, are in stable condition and are projected to recover, corroborated the police in a statement released on Thursday morning.

Earlier in the day, around 3 p.m., a confrontation occurred at the same location relating to a disagreement over the return of a car. An alleged assault involving weapons was called in, leading to the police’s arrival at the scene. Though an individual involved in the incident was interested in prosecuting the alleged assault, the suspect wasn’t found at the time.

The series of events led police to issue a trespass warning to one of the parties involved in the car disagreement. The people embroiled in the disagreement are suspected to be the same individuals implicated in the fatal shooting.

As per the police, the shooting was an isolated and targeted act. Investigators are working on leads in the case and are carrying out further inquiries to determine the injured parties’ roles and identify the suspects involved.
