Severe Weather Alert: Damaging Winds, Hail, Tornado Threat Continues to Ravage Multiple States – Stay Safe!

From Little Rock, Arkansas to Raleigh, North Carolina, severe weather threatens parts of the country through Thursday. With more than 50 million people at risk of dangerous conditions, including damaging winds, large hail, and possible tornadoes, residents are urged to remain vigilant.

The National Weather Service for Little Rock warns of a storm system that will impact the entire state, emphasizing the importance of having multiple ways to receive warnings, especially during nocturnal events. In Raleigh, North Carolina, strong storms are expected with the potential for large hail, damaging winds, and the possibility of an isolated tornado.

This severe weather follows the overnight tornadoes in Michigan, where the city of Portage was hit by two tornadoes. Thankfully, all workers trapped in a FedEx facility have been safely rescued, although Pavilion Estates Mobile Home Park suffered substantial damage with about 20 injuries reported. Despite no fatalities or serious injuries, many residents have lost their homes, prompting a local state of emergency in Kalamazoo County.

Further storms are predicted to trigger flash flooding in the Tennessee Valley and Ohio Valley region, with cities such as Nashville and Lexington potentially experiencing localized flooding. Additionally, parts of Texas are at risk of severe storms, including very large hail and damaging winds.

Looking ahead, 60 million people from the mid-Atlantic to the central and eastern parts of Texas could face more severe weather on Thursday, with the Midwest experiencing a highly active weather pattern since April 1. As April and May are typically peak months for severe weather, residents are urged to stay informed and prepared for potential hazards.
