Severed leg found in park near golf course

CUDAHY, WI – A macabre discovery in Warnimont Park has set the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office on the trail of a potential homicide. A resident stumbled upon a human leg near the water’s edge of Lake Michigan on Tuesday, April 2, triggering a full-scale investigation.

The unsettling find was made close to the pump house, east of the park’s golf course. The acting Chief of Staff for the Sheriff’s Office, James Burnett, confirmed that the case is being handled as a possible homicide. A suspect has already been apprehended and is currently in custody.

The initial alert came from a park visitor who made the grisly discovery and promptly reported it to the authorities. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with residents questioning the safety of their tranquil neighborhood.

John Hemmer, a frequent park-goer, voiced his shock. “It’s just amazing to me. In a quiet area like this, something so heinous could happen,” he said.

Warnimont Park is situated in Cudahy, Wisconsin, a peaceful suburb around eight miles southeast of downtown Milwaukee. Despite the disturbing incident, regular park visitor Eric Ruckstadter assured that he would continue to frequent the park, provided there were others around.

As the investigation unfolds, Burnett has been able to confirm that the leg is human. However, further details are being kept under wraps to avoid jeopardizing the investigation. The Sheriff’s Office has yet to reveal how they plan to identify the leg’s origin or its owner.
