The incident reportedly took place in the parking lot of a strip club called XTC Cabaret on February 2, 2017. This news comes shortly after the Prosper Police in Texas initiated an inquiry into Prescott’s claims of being extorted.
The National Football League (NFL) declined to make any statements regarding the matter when approached earlier in the week. However, Cowboys’ executive vice president, Stephen Jones, addressed the issue during a press conference for the PBR World Finals, offering a comment on behalf of the team.
Prescott recently filed a lawsuit in Collin County, alleging that a woman from Fort Worth falsely accused him of sexual assault in an attempt to extort $100 million from him. His attorney, Levi G. McCathern, disclosed that Prescott had a consensual encounter with the accuser during a meeting with the Prosper police prior to the lawsuit filing, although no further details were provided.
The woman’s attorney, Yoel Zehaie, firmly maintains that Prescott assaulted his client and hinted at the likelihood of a civil lawsuit being filed imminently. Zehaie also mentioned that pursuing criminal charges against Prescott is a possible course of action.
Jones emphasized that the ongoing investigation regarding the sexual assault allegations against Prescott will not impact the current contract negotiations with the player.
