Minneapolis, Minnesota – Three individuals, including a police officer, lost their lives in a tragic shooting incident on Thursday evening, as confirmed by city officials. The suspect involved in the shooting also died, with a second police officer sustaining critical injuries. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey identified the fallen officer as 28-year-old Jamal Mitchell during a press conference.
The incident unfolded around 5:30 p.m. when officers responded to reports of gunfire at an apartment complex in the Whittier neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers were met with gunfire, leading to the tragic events. Officer Mitchell was shot while attempting to render aid to two injured individuals on the scene.
