Washington, D.C. – A tragic incident unfolded in the early hours of Sunday morning as seven individuals fell victim to gun violence, resulting in two fatalities and five injuries, according to authorities.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) promptly responded to reports of a shooting at the intersection of 7th and P Streets, Northwest, shortly after 3 a.m. Two men were discovered at the scene with fatal gunshot wounds, while four others sustained injuries during the incident.

Emergency services rushed the four injured adults to local hospitals for treatment, while another victim sought medical attention at a nearby hospital for a gunshot wound.

As investigations into the shooting continue, law enforcement officials are working diligently to determine the possible motives behind the attack. A preliminary examination by the police department indicates that one or more suspects deliberately discharged a firearm at the victims.

In an effort to bring those responsible for the tragic event to justice, the police department has announced a reward of up to $50,000 for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrators.

Appealing to the public for cooperation, Jeffrey Carroll, MPD’s executive assistant chief, urged anyone with knowledge of the incident or potential witnesses to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
